The Big Book Club Getaway is an exciting new event series that premiered on February 1-2, 2013 at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Connecticut.  More than 40 renowned authors and exciting presenters converged to discuss their work including Leeza Gibbons, Brad Meltzer, Tess Gerritsen, Mary McGarry Morris, Patricia Schultz (1000 Places to See Before You Die) Kristin van Ogtrop (Managing Editor of Real Simple Magazine), Amy Newmark (Publisher of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series) and many, many more.  The concept expands upon the traditional living room reading group where small groups of avid readers come together to meet interesting people, discuss books and taste great food and wine. Through The Big Book Club Getaway, attendees escaped to a fabulous resort where they explored the world through literature. Guests had the opportunity to converge with other book clubs and meet celebrated authors and experts on topics such as cooking, health, history, creativity … even sex!  Everyone enjoyed fun experiences including gaming, virtual travel, spa services, nightlife, shopping, and dining. The Big Book Club has something for everyone.

All of this great fun benefited the Alzheimer’s Association, so guests did something good for others by attending and having a blast!   Stay tuned for dates for our next event!
